ISLAMABAD: On the directives of the Prime Minister, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to review the domestic gas supply situation ahead of the winter months and assess the efficiency of consumer complaint redressal mechanisms.

During the meeting, Managing Directors of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) reported that this winter, household gas supply has increased by approximately 26% compared to the previous year. The MDs also highlighted significant improvements in complaint management, emphasizing the active role of the 1199 helpline and Complaint Management System, supported by newly established Control and Situation Rooms for swift monitoring and resolution.

Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik lauded the progress, emphasizing the importance of maintaining optimum gas pressure during supply hours and ensuring timely resolution of individual complaints, particularly those related to low pressure. He stressed that maximum relief should be extended to consumers, noting that measures such as increasing gas supply duration by two hours in Quetta are already providing tangible benefits.

The Minister directed both Sui gas companies to continue their efforts to ensure uninterrupted and efficient gas supply throughout the winter, assuring the public that their cooking and heating requirements will be met without inconvenience.

This development reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to improving domestic energy services, enhancing consumer satisfaction, and strengthening infrastructure to cope with seasonal demand surges. Ends
