ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has announced a significant gas and condensate discovery at its Dars West-3 well in the Tando Allah Yar District of Sindh, reinforcing the hydrocarbon potential of the Lower Goru Formation.

The well, drilled to a depth of 2,100 metres, was tested in the C-Sands of the Lower Goru Formation using OGDC’s in-house technical expertise. During testing, Dars West-3 flowed at 9.70 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas along with 580 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate at a 36/64-inch choke, with a wellhead flowing pressure of 1,725 psi.

The discovery strengthens OGDC’s reserve base and underscores its continued push for aggressive exploration, efficient reservoir evaluation, and accelerated development of indigenous energy resources.

Pipeline installation is underway to link the well with the KPD-TAY processing plant. Once connected, the gas will be processed and injected into the SSGCL network, adding fresh supplies to the national grid.

The Dars West Development and Production Lease (D&PL) joint venture is operated by OGDC with a 77.5 percent working interest, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) holds the remaining 22.5 percent stake. Ends
