ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has secured the top position among 104 publicly listed companies in Pakistan in Transparency International Pakistan’s Transparency in Corporate Reporting Assessment (TRAC) 2026, achieving an overall score of 92.71%.
The assessment placed OGDC in the “Significantly Transparent” category, well above the average score of 66.73% recorded across the participating companies, highlighting its performance in corporate disclosure, accountability and governance.
OGDC secured a perfect score of 100% in four key assessment categories: anti-corruption programmes, organisational transparency, domestic financial reporting, and gender, non-discrimination and disability inclusion. The company also scored 100% in procurement related to government contracts and tenders, ranking first in that category.
Transparency International Pakistan’s assessment examined the extent to which companies publicly disclose information about their policies, governance arrangements and business operations. OGDC’s performance in anti-corruption reporting was particularly notable, with the report highlighting its Code of Conduct as an example of good practice for providing employees with secure and confidential two-way communication channels to report unethical conduct.
The company’s perfect scores in organisational transparency and domestic financial reporting reflected its disclosures relating to corporate structures, governance arrangements and financial information concerning domestic operations.
In the area of gender equality, non-discrimination and disability inclusion, OGDC also achieved the highest score, alongside Interloop and Sazgar Engineering. The assessment covered companies’ public commitments against harassment and discrimination, equal-opportunity recruitment and promotion, disability inclusion, and formal mechanisms for addressing workplace discrimination.
Beyond these areas, OGDC scored 81.25% in human rights and corporate responsibility and 75% in environmental, social and governance (ESG) disclosures, demonstrating its performance across the broader corporate reporting framework.
The assessment results showed considerable differences in disclosure practices across the corporate sector. The average scores stood at 53.41% for anti-corruption programmes, 92.49% for organisational transparency, and 92.50% for domestic financial reporting. Average scores for gender, non-discrimination and disability inclusion, human rights and corporate responsibility, and ESG disclosures were 68.11%, 45.98% and 47.84%, respectively.
OGDC’s overall ranking places the company ahead of all other firms covered by the assessment, reinforcing its standing in public corporate reporting. Its results also highlight the importance of transparent disclosures, effective accountability mechanisms and responsible business practices in strengthening stakeholder confidence.
