ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik on Monday in Kuwait held a high-level meeting with Kuwait’s Minister of Oil Tariq Sulaiman Al-Roumi to discuss matters of mutual interest and further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the petroleum sector.
As per the statement issued, the meeting brought together senior leadership from both sides, including Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), the CEO of KUFPEC, and their senior management teams. The Pakistani delegation included OGDCL Managing Director Ahmed Hayat Lak and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) General Manager (Supplies).
Speaking during the meeting, Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the relationship between Pakistan and Kuwait is rooted in mutual respect, trust, and decades of cooperation, particularly in the petroleum sector.
Both sides reviewed the longstanding and friendly collaboration between the two countries and explored multiple areas of cooperation, with a focus on strengthening existing partnerships and identifying new opportunities across the petroleum value chain.
The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral ties and agreed to maintain close coordination to advance shared objectives in the energy sector, building on the strong foundation of Pakistan–Kuwait relations.
Following the meeting, the Kuwaiti Minister of Oil hosted a luncheon in honour of the Pakistani delegation at the Waldorf Astoria, underscoring the warmth of bilateral ties. Ends
